    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

Good equipment levels for price. Cheap to buy secondhand.

Dealer parts can be expensive but good reliability record means that replacement parts aren't often required. Most servicing parts are available from motor factors at reasonable prices.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Smooth, quiet engine. Well laid out cabin. First class handling.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comparable to Vectra/Mondeo 2.0. Not outstanding performance but very capable, especially in the mid rev range.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Generally very good. Timing chain instead of a belt is a bonus.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

Perhaps it's judged a bit harshly. You don't need to own a flat cap to drive one. Spoiler, front fog lights and slightly lower stance help to distinguish it from lower spec models.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Stiff suspension makes for a slightly uncomfortable ride in town. Sports seats are supportive and driver's seat base is height adjustable at front and rear. Roomy cabin.

  • Security and Service

    Security

Alarm and immobiliser fitted as standard, plus deadlocks. Glovebox not lockable though.

No problems from Reg Vardy, Aberdeen.
