Because its Japanese, excellent value. so much extra kit for literally no extra cost, I had full electrics including e-sunroof.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

fuel consumption is top class, about 70-80 miles for £5, full tank not even £30, parts are some of the cheapest

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Absolutely smooth and nimble, even compared to new cars! yet handling was responsive but not sturdy due to the skinny standard Micra tyres! I could get at least 20mph more at top end if tyres were larger. top speed is around 120mph.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

All I can say is: Twin Cam 16 Valve! 0-60mph in around 10 secs (extremely impressive for a 1.4litre!), I've managed to outrun a 2litre 16v Renault Megane, and a Toyota Yaris 1.5Turbo! No joke, if you don't believe me, try it! the car has a lot of torque.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

It's almost invincible. The ONLY time my car did not start was when I forgot to fuel up the night before! I've never had problems in winter, shocked at engine's ability to withstand heaps of abuse, most other cars would have DIED a long time ago.

    Image

Hey its a Nissan Sunny: no popularity contests won, but image doesn't matter when you know your car is better than theirs!

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Seats are a bit harder than liked, yet the rest of the inside is simple & ergonomically designed for ease of use, and the engine is by far one of the quietest units I've heard. my washing machine actually makes more noise!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Does have central locking but Sunny's are known to be quite a favourite for joy riders to break into as they are easy to break into, easy to hotwire, and fun to rag, unfortunately.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Excellent service, did not get ripped off like I used to at VW.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Engine was flawless, until I rallied the car to madness, but it didn't fry, it just lost smooth power delivery during 'take-off', and engine started 'missing', most cars this would be a critical problem, but you can hardly notice the difference in this.

    Other

Understeer is the only real flaw with this car, this is only due to the skinny tyres. If I had some nice chunky alloys this car would be top-notch fun to drive.
