Cheap enough to buy and to keep running, young drivers whose insurance companys won't touch if they have a GTi can find a compromise with the sunny SR.
Costs
Servicing costs are reasonable, never needed a loan to sort it, never really needed to sort it very often anyway.

Smooth ride, good on long journeys, good level of equipment.
Performance
Not exactly GTi standard, but still good pick up, 3rd gear is pleasingly torquey.

It may only be a Nissan sunny, but it turns heads, I have received a lot of compliments on how good looking it is, with bigger wheels and slightly lower suspension it would get 5.

Nice supportive seats, leg room is pretty good in front and back for the class of car.
