Peugeot 3008 review (2023)

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

iCockpit a great idea but take heating controls away from it as it becomes too fiddly when driving. Difficult to see where to put key when starting car at night time. I get a great buzz factor every time I get into the car and find the Vauxhall Crossland X which I have been supplied with as my car has been off the road for 5 weeks (due to water leak and damaged thereafter caused to airbags) very boring in comparison. The 1.2 pure tec is a great engine and it sound makes it quite sporty. I have the 6 speed auto which I am very happy with but sometimes I feel it should engage the 6th gear more quickly. Unlike some I don't find the sunroof restricts head room in the back and I am 6ft tall. I have the Allure trim which is more than one needs though with the benefit of hindsight I should have gone for the keyless entry with auto boot opening instead of having the sunshine roof, both of which were extra's on the Allure trim. Boot space excellent and the rear folding seats mechanism easy to use. I looked at similar priced SUV's but compared with the 3008 they were all so boring.

How reliable do you find the car?

My car will be 3 yrs old in June. last year front suspension problem. Fixed under warranty. This year leak from sunshine roof(apparently a common problem).Car has been in work shop now for 5 weeks waiting Peugeot to approve repairs which include a new roof lining and the driver and passenger airbag to be replaced as damaged by water leak. Drivers seat belt subject to a recall which I was not advised about from the dealer I bought the car from. Despite these problems I still think it is a great car.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

My daughter has had a 207 and 208 over the years and found them unreliable so with some trepidation i test drove the 3008 due to very good reviews in the motoring press. I was smitten as soon as I got into the drivers seat. After 2 and a half years of owning the car I still get a buzz when I drive it. the delay in having it repaired I find so frustrating.
