Value
Cost me £200. Bargain. Massively underrated thanks to 205.
Costs
Its a diesel so has excellent economy. Parts are cheap, engines last forever but bodies don't (well mine lasted 375k!!)

Driving
Handles quite well, but then the french are good at that. Million times better than the 1.8D Escort
Performance
Not great but then its a smelly diesel. Light weight means they'll out drag a 1800D Escort and then take the corners faster.

Living with it
Reliability
375k and the car rotted round the engine. Needed new fuel pump. Never used any oil because I never put any in.

Its a 309. Ugly as sin but reliable workhorse. Bit of a big-205-cult thing with them tho (I want a 3dr Goodwood sometime). I'd choose one over a Mk4 Escort everyday.
Comfort
Kinda basic, you don't buy a 309 instead of a jag now do ya? Torsion bar gives good ride.

Security? Naa mate, just do the windows up. Takes a desperate thief to nick it. Get a cheap battered one and don't care.
