Renault 19 Saloon 1989-
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Excellent value for money, now most recent models with good spec are very cheap.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Cheap to service and run at 40 MPG+. Avoid Renault dealers (very pricy).

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Good to drive. Holds the road well.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very good for what it is. Nippy around town and enough punch to overtake (just).

    Reliability

    1 out of 5 1.0

Very good. First time starter, no major problems. I'm on my second one and it's coming up for 150,000 miles.

    4 out of 5 4.0

16V and Cabrio look very nice and suprisingly cheap. Others are so so.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very good seats, comfortable and good for long jouneys (big car feel to them).

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Average. Worth fitting an immobliser, as ony a few models came with alarm/immobiliser.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

Renault dealers give good levels of service and are very helpful (only to wiling to spot something wrong). A bit pricey, though.
