Other Renault Laguna (2007 - 2012) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

It's different, respectable and just a little bit cool (well, I think so!).

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

It's had overwhelmingly positive responses. A couple of friends have been disparaging about the fact it's "a Renault" but it seems they've got the reliability sorted in the switch from the Laguna 2 to Laguna 3.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Definitely - I can't fault it overall. I've had a variety of cars but this one is just great.

What are you likely to buy next?

No plans to change for five or six years. Would probably go Renault again.

  • Buying experience

    3 out of 5 3.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £11,995

When did you buy the car?

    March 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think the deal was fair.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Had a Laguna hatchback and wanted a larger boot but loved the car.

    What was the dealer like?

Really average - messed up the finance and took three months to settle the finance on my part exchange.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Relaxing primarily - but very powerful, though not sporty. Gearbox (mine's an auto) does feel a bit hesitant at times but generaly only between 2 and 6 mph. Overall, really can't fault it - comfortable, confidence inspiring and always smooth.

    What's it like to park?

Not as bad as the reviews would have you believe - it's a large car, with large overhangs, but the parking sensors and the digital display on the dash reduce guess work. Visibility is pretty good anyway and the lock is far better than I anticipated.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Electronic handbrake has needed resetting a couple of times - never fails to work but does keep setting a fault alert off! Also very slight misfire occassionally but nothing serious.

What's most practical about your car?

The boot is so user friendly and useful, with a great seat mechanism. The dual openning tailgate is great too - never thought it would be useful but it is.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I like the whole car but I love the great air con and the little cubby hole to the right of the steering column for keeping coins in!
