Rover 100 Hatchback 1.1i 5d (1995/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Great value for money if you shop around.
Costs
Had to replace most of exhaust costing half the value of the car.
-
On the road
Driving
Little runaround - nothing more.
Performance
Nippy when getting up to 30mph, but don't expect anything exciting past that.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Never broken down on me but I'm sure it didn't have much life left after 80,000 miles.
Image
"Rover 100" and "Image" shouldn't really be in the same sentence.
Comfort
I used to call mine "the go-kart" - don't buy one if you plan 8k + per year or are like me and over 6ft.
-
Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser & alarm fitted but simple to open door with a wedge & a coathanger (I locked my keys in once).
Service
No servicing carried out.
-
Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Radiator pipe split, mended with tape but coolant cap had to be kept off (didn't want to pay for the whole piping replacement section).
Other
Only for occasional use, preferably for someone with a garage to keep it dry!
