Rover 800 Fastback 820 Si 5d Auto (1996/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
An awful lot of car with no value in the trade
Costs
28 mpg same insurance cost as a Disco parts reasonable
-
On the road
Driving
This is a cruiser not a driver's car responds well to smooth driving but will not be rushed
Performance
Goes when wound up but languid at low/mid revs, auto masks this esp in Sport mode
-
Living with it
Reliability
Good so far, but bad reputation all engines should have had head gaskets fixed early in life
Image
I quite like it, but realise it is seen as a joke car by others for the money, who cares?
Comfort
Seats too soft ride is poor on broken surfaces, body not that stiff quiet lovely cabin ambience
