Other Saab 9-5 (1997 - 2005) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

You buy your household goods at Aldi, and your household furniture from IKEA.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

People think the car is worth alot of money, and actually one person thought it was only a few years old.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Would be nice to buy another one in the future, however I think that may be a problem as Saab no longer exists in its old form anyway.

What are you likely to buy next?

If I couldnt get another, id probably go back to Mercedes, as they seem to be the only other manufacturer that have an equal build quality on their cars.

    £400

When did you buy the car?

    November 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

Car had a full Saab service history from new, however owner bought another car so wanted a quick sale.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Bought it cheap as it needed a Water Pump fixing (Rattling) apparently a common fault, even for the best serviced Saabs.

    What was the dealer like?

    Not Applicable.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Puts my old Merc CLK 230 to shame on driving quality, pulls beautifully through the gears, a very smooth and comfortable driving experience.

    What's it like to park?

Relatively easy, because it has rear parking sensors, but you have not to forget it is a long car and rear visibility especially with the rear spoiler in the way can be troublesome.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The obvious fault was the Failing Water Pump that made a rattle noise, which was replaced, however upon having this repaired, mechanic noticed bearings in the Turbo were shot due to the dreaded Oil Starvation fault. Cost £500 all in to put the car back on the road.

What's most practical about your car?

    Good Boot Space.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Too many to list to have a favourite one, i still havent finished playing with all the buttons.
