Economy
Value
Cheap because of poor image (still), though that's changing. Hard to find a better value car besides the Fords.
Costs
Low insurance. Incredible fuel economy. Every tank up is still an event! Can use straight vegetable oil if you really need to (but make sure you do it legally). Servicing is fairly cheap.

On the road
Driving
Suprisingly good. Handles like the VW Bora. Firm steering, steady, solid drive. Slight roll on corners though.
Performance
0-60 in 19 seconds. When I floor it, nobody realises! Except that it sounds loud. Struggles to overtake beyond 70mph.

Mechanically sound. Feels like it will run forever.

It got so bad I had to change to the Mazda MX6 (see other review). It's relative to everyone I suppose. A fantastic value car if image doesn't bother you, but the tide is turning slowly...
Comfort
Solid to drive. Feels safe. Quite good on bad roads, but minimum spec model with no frills.

It's an underpowered Skoda. Who's going to break it? And what for? To joy ride? Because it's an expensive car? Think about it. The image is the best security. Unfortunately.

The guy in charge of the actual workshop was condescending and unhelpful.
