Had always had my eye on an Octavia VRS and got this MK3 hatch from Skoda dealer in Aylesbury. It's everything I was hoping for: quick, handles well, roomy, comfortable, cheap to run, and looks good. I had read that the diesel version lacks a bit of punch especially higher in the rev range, and it's possibly true that the petrol version is better in this respect ... but the performance is still easily enough for every day driving. Other cars may be quicker, and plusher, but if you're looking for a blend of everything in good measure, and don't care about status, the value for your money is ridiculous.
How reliable do you find the car?
Only owned for 6 weeks so no real time for anything to go wrong yet. But I've owned several Skodas before and can say from experience that they are reliable.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
This early model lacks cruise control, which is a bit odd especially for a diesel car well suited to motorway cruising, but that apart it's a terrific car.About their car
