In their own words

I bought the Vitara because I wanted a proper 4 wheel drive SUV. The car has proved to be very practical and pleasant to own and drive. It is physically not too large but is comfortable for 4 people and has a reasonably sized boot which can be expanded by lower in the rear seats. I find it very easy to drive and it is comfortable on twisty bumpy roads with very little body lean. The engine is very quiet but there is some tyre noise depending on the road surface. The engine is very smooth and powerful for the engine size, and in sport mode it becomes a different animal and really flies. The gearbox is smooth and slick although a little stiff when new, it is getting better with more use. Although I haven’t done a high mileage, partly due to the Covid situation, the car has been faultless throughout the 3 years of ownership. My only niggle is that the fuel consumption figures are higher than I expected, but coming from a diesel to a petrol, needs time to adjust. On a motorway run I get 45mpg and in general use about 38mpg, Overall I am very happy with the Vitara and would buy again.
