Other Toyota Avensis (2009 - 2018) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

I'm not really interested in what it says about me. What it can do for me is far more important. Tows my heavy caravan well, so comfortable for hours on motorway (30,000 miles in 9 months, not missed a beat, and no backache.) Being different to the crowd does appeal though, and all who travel in it are impressed with the car - very much under-rated. I can see why US drivers rate Toyota/Lexus way above Merc/BMW etc.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Impressed as to how much car there is for the money, and the quality too.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, without question. Better than a well-equipped E-Class for far less money - no-brainer really, isn't it.

What are you likely to buy next?

Another Toyota Avensis as above. Can't find a reason not to do so.

    £18,495

When did you buy the car?

    April 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Ex-demo, they were keen to sell to meet monthly target, to my advantage - right place, right time. Exceptional value for money.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Dealers demonstrator with all options and bodykit. 6months old and £10k off list price, incredible car, incredible value. I was looking specifically for T-Spirit for all accessories and for the 8-way electric heated leather seats.

    What was the dealer like?

Excellent - couldn't fault them, St Leonards Motors - Toyota dealer for Hastings, E.Sussex

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

So easy to forget how well it does everything overall. Takes a while to get fully used to it as there are so many facilities that no other car offers - even on a test drive you would never appreciate the full range. 46mpg overall, not bad for so much car - bigger than you first think,

    What's it like to park?

Electric mirrors, colour reversing camera, reversing sensors - very easy. Only problem will be if I move away from all these (which is most unlikely - what else could come up to this standard?)

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No - as you would expect. Toyota/Lexus reputation holds good as always - there is nothing to touch them. Better than any Merc/BMW etc - better quality and more options for loads less money.

What's most practical about your car?

All of it. So well equipped, so comfortable - makes me smile every time. full-length panoramic sun-roof, music hard-drive, DAB radio, Cruise control and speed-limiter, could go on for hours about all the accessories.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Reversing camera makes parking this long estate simple, full-colur satnav is firstclass.
