My first Toyota. 7 years later, still happy.
Costs
Bought manufacturer's extended warranties from 3 years old - wasted my money! Into year 7 with no jobs except routine + tyres etc. Believe parts are pricey though, so warranty gives peace of mind.

Nice gears in particular, otherwise average.
Performance
I'm no boy racer - it's fine for me. Cruises nice and quietly at 70mph. Gets me past tractors on country lanes with no bother!!

82,000 miles totally trouble free. As I said above, just bought the last manufacturer's warranty allowed for this age and mileage for piece of mind.

Has been fine travelling up and down the country on holidays. A real test when you are in the car for 5 hours or more in one go.

Never had a break in, or attempt (as far as I know) - Live in a medium crime area (outer Liverpool).
Service
Toyota dealer I use gave good customer care and reasonable costs for service - always provided a courtesy car for the day while service/MOT being done.
