Professional image from a man at the height of his career who can afford the luxuries of the top of the range car.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Within 3 months of buying it, another 3 appeared in the small village where I live. It certainly made an impression. Incidentally, 40mpg is the average about town but have got 45mpg driving Newcastle to Cornwall with full load, roofbox and 3 bikes on the back!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Not the new 2009 model as I don't think I like the offset dash. Plus, this engine doesn't seem to be an option anymore despite many reviews having it as an option, the Toyota dealers do not have it. 150 bhp is the highest you can go.
What are you likely to buy next?
Seriously looking at the Avensis tourer D-4D 150 2.2L Will test drive this weekend.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Best car I've ever driven. Seriously. Previous cars have been Citroen C5, Picasso, Vectra, Seat Toledo, Metro... You feel very secure in it and gives you an air of "above everyone else", then you hit the pedal and vroom .. away you go leaving the others way behind. It's faster than a Range Rover Sport for Gods sake !
What's it like to park?
Dead easy. For a big car the bonnet is short and the back is vertical so getting into tight spaces is simple.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing other than a broken windscreen from a rock thrown from a motorway bridge !
What's most practical about your car?
The power of this engine is superb. 0-60 in 8.8 but feels so much quicker. Overtaking is a breeze. Very confortable to drive. Huge space inside.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Like the high seating position and the gearknob position.
