  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Well, i like to think is says there is a stylish, sophisticated person inside with great taste lol, but seriously, it does seam to turn heads.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Apart from the front windows being a problem for me i have only heard good comments so far.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I am currently considering buying the 2.0l Turbo version, as are many people after owning this car.

What are you likely to buy next?

Still undecided but if i were not to buy another astra coupe i would be looking for a coupe of some sort.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £2,700

When did you buy the car?

    January 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

I bought the car off my brother as he needed a larger car so i think i got a rather good deal.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I liked the looks and style of it, engine felt pokey and heard the 1.8's are bullet-proof, interior let it down a bit as does most of the vauxhall range.

    What was the dealer like?

Bit of a pleb but still gave me a good price!

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

The engine feels pokey for a 1.8 which makes overtaking fun although it does wheelspin easily in the wet which the traction control seams to be oblivious to. The handling is amazing considering the weight of the car and cruising at high speeds is just great, the car feels stiff around corners but seams to soak up uneven roads quite well.

    What's it like to park?

Reverse parking can be difficult in tight areas as it's hard to see out the back, but the spoiler makes it easy to keep track of where the rear is exactly.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

When using the one-touch function the electric windows sometimes stop which can be annoying and will be getting looked at sometime in the near future.

What's most practical about your car?

The boot and rear leg room are unusually large for a coupe, which was a nice suprise, the lack of memory function when moving the seats does let it down.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The car i bought seriously lacked in optional extras, however, it is possible to add a huge amount of gadgets, even now, like cruise control, heated seats, traction control switch, bluetooth phone system and total closure to name but a few.
