In their own words

We purchased our Grandland just after they were launched and it was nice for a while to have a distinctive and unique car. Unfortunately they are very popular now and are everywhere! We still love ours though!! Our Techline Nav version is very well equipped with the keyless start, keyless opening, electric tailgate, front and rear parking sensors and dark tinted rear windows. We also paid £100 extra for the heated front windscreen which has been invaluable in the recent cold icy weather as well as the pretty Topaz blue (but no black roof option available at the time despite us wanting this combination). The car is now 3 years old and there isn’t a model of similar spec now available which means we may have to look at something else (possibly a Jeep Compass). The keyless entry/start and powered tailgate are all now expensive extras but you can’t spec these with the winter pack (heated seats, windscreen and steering) or heated windscreen on its own. At least the new ones have a reverse camera which wasn’t available back in 2018. Ours is the 1.2 petrol and it’s an amazing drive. It sounds good and is quite fast but it does mean you have to change down sometimes on hills to keep going. Fuel economy isn’t that great though. Build quality hasn’t been the best but ours is an early car. The exterior window chrome door trims moved so they hit each other when the doors opened and shut and took an age to be sorted by the dealer. The door trims creak very badly even after being changed and the little coin pocket in the dash is of very cheap poor quality plastic. The gear change quality is very clunky but has improved with miles. The auto version might be better but is a lot more expensive than the manual. Two very annoying things are the useless glove box where nothing much will fit in (thanks Peugeot!) and the useless drinks holders where two normal sized takeaway drinks will not sit next together. These need to be sorted in the upcoming facelift! The supplying dealer wasn’t the best either as any problems reported come back with a ‘no fault found’. Overall a very likeable car which we may consider buying again if the issues identified above are resolved in the upcoming facelifted version.
