In their own words

When I bought this car it was running on the original 225/45 R17 wheels and tyres. This resulted in a hard ride, "tramlining", noisy and quick wearing tyres, the alloy wheels being prone to expensive damage. To obviate these drawbacks I fitted 195/65 R15 Michelin Cross Climate + tyres on 15" Vauxhall steel wheels as supplied as original equipment on the base S* model. I run the pressures at 42psi front and 38psi rear as recommended by Vauxhall for "economy". This has resulted in vastly improved roadhollding and a quieter smoother ride and more resilient wheels which are far more suitable for our terrible potholed roads. Why do manufacturers not give us such options on new cars?
