Wonderful reliable Zafera never let me down. Always started in ice and snow. Though 21 years old, just had one clutch, and brakes renewed, I always topped up diesel refill with Redex, to keep engine clean. Plus used an expensive oil with magnetic particles to protect engine. This paid of. Heartbroken to say goodbye (gear gone) after so many years of reliability.
How reliable do you find the car?
Replaced, clutch, brakes, once. Now in its 21st year I'm heartbroken to part with this trusty old partner. Have driven all of UK, many times for holidays, and passed modern broken down cars motorways, whilst my old banger just drives on. It sails through lot. I drive steady 55mpg, and top up diesel fuel with Redex. Sadly after all these years second gear gone. So it's off to Zafira graveyard.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
I'm 71. This Zafera (1990) most dependable car I've owned. Without all the modern updates, it always started first time even in ice!! Never need glow plug replacement. Unlike my previous Astras, this Zafera was workhorse. RIP. I would never buy another Zafera, as aware of so many expensive repair issues. Just bought VW California Ocean campervan. But if I could have converted my old Zafera, I would have done. But its value only £150 but was priceless to me. And was advised not to waste money, now a gear on the way out!About their car
