In their own words

Having owned the previous generation Golf R I was looking forward to owning the new model. Supply issues meant I could only get one a few months old. Car feels bigger ( although the same size) and definitely feels quicker than the old model. The car is also quieter than the old model even in race mode. My only gripe is the satnav, overly complicated dash and the lane assist. Satnav only works when it wants to and the lane assist is positively vicious! I have to turn off the stop/start ( hate it) and lane assist every time I start the vehicle which is annoying but a minor niggle. VW have made this relatively simple. The older sat nav never let me down but this one has a mind of its own. Seems to be a common problem. I accidentally turn on the heated steering wheel every time I drive the car due to its position. None of the buttons change colour when they are turned on and the heating controls are impossible in the dark. There is also a lack of storage for bits and bobs in the new golf . I have owned this model for a couple of months and like this car but I loved the previous generation Golf R from the second I drove it! Perhaps it will grow on me?
