VW are really unhelpful. my car was just outside the warranty period and had done 10K miles only and they would not re-imburse me for the window problem.

See camshaft problem.
Other
Camshaft went after only 22k miles, damaged engine valves. Electric motor on the windows bust - apparently this is a design fault and VW will not own up to this. Also, the locking of the passenger door is temperamental.
