Value
Good discount negotiated, but still expensive for a small hatch.
Costs
Very good so far on fuel, but not as economical as VW 90bhp or 110bhp units.

Has a bigger car feel, which shelters driver from the hurly burly feel of the road one would like in a small hatch.
Performance
Really surprised - the 100 TDi leaves my Mk1 GTi for dead from 10-70mph.

Needed new circuit board for intermittent wipers - done without fuss from main dealers.
