  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

That I'm individual and have good taste? Despite being 12 years old it still looks like the £35k car it was when it rolled off the production line. Torquoise makes it stand out from all the silver and black BMW/Audi coupes.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Recieved multiple compliments, more so than any other car I've owned. People like having rides in it and it still looks very posh.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yeah it was a bargain for what it was, it seems to want for nothing (bit thirsty though), is well equipped, built well and should last a long time. I just wish it had a bit more steering feel and it wasn't quite so quiet! I want to hear more 5 cylinder roar.

What are you likely to buy next?

A Volvo V50 although would be a difficult decision to choose between MPG and performance!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    June 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Deal was alright, price was about average for the age & miles but car was in excellent condition with a great service history.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Always fancied one and had just turned 25 so it was time to buy something with a nice big turbo!

    What was the dealer like?

Friendly, patient and professional. Would definately consider using them again.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very quiet and relaxing until you put your right foot down: a slight lull then you hear the whistle from the turbo followed by the roar of the engine and if your not careful the wail of sirens ;) Gotta watch the speedo (and torque steer!) as its so fast, quiet and effortless. Not a great amount of steering feel but ok and the car corners flatly with its fat tyres.

    What's it like to park?

Poor in a word. The turning circle is abysmal, I frequently have to take two takes just to get in a parking space. I seem to find it fairly easy to judge the size of the car but the poor turning circle nearly resulted in me rear ending a wall in a dark pub car park that I had thought was well out the way... Doors are big and like to fly open if your not careful.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Not really, just service items and exhaust bracket needed welding. Front brake caliper seized but new pads and a good clean seem to have sorted it.

What's most practical about your car?

Seats are comfortable even in the back, provided you can get in! Rear access isn't that great, not as good as a small 3 door hatchback. Boots pretty good although but being a coupe the access hold isn't massive.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

My cars got just about everything apart from the dolby speakers and a sunroof. Speakers sound great regardless and every thing works as it should (even at 12 years old). Even the traction control but that refuses to turn off! Multi spoke BBS wheels look great.
