What we like

It might sound like we’ve been a little harsh on the Tiggo 7 but if it wants a serious shot in the C-SUV segment then it really does need to make a good impression. There are plenty of redeeming features, such as the spacious interior, high quality materials and impressive spec. The Super Hybrid is very efficient and delivers great efficiency for not very much money.

What we don’t like

Given that we’re less than five years away from the Government’s target of stopping new petrol and diesel cars from being sold, the entry-level petrol engine seems like a backwards step for a new-to-market brand. Where’s the electric version, Chery? And while we don’t expect a cheap family car to deliver a highly precise drive, the vague nature of the Tiggo 7 does not reach the very high bar set by the rest of the segment.
