No Ferrari has yet been put through the Euro NCAP crash test procedure but we would expect the strong aluminium chassis to provide good protection in an accident. Despite the car’s huge performance there’s a good chance that you wouldn’t ever have to find out though: an electronic stability control system is standard and if the incredibly powerful standard steel brakes aren’t enough for you, there’s the racing-style carbon ceramic brakes now standard on every Ferrari.

Seatbelt pretensioners and both driver and passenger airbags are standard, but side airbags are not available.

Clearly you don’t buy a mid-engined supercar if you’re worried about being able to lug around furniture and golf clubs. But the front boot is a respectable size and well-shaped for soft bags if not traditional rectangular suitcases. Ferrari does a nice line in fitted luggage if you really want to maximise your carrying capacity, albeit at a price. And unless you’re so tall that you need to push the seat right back against the bulkhead, there’s a useful amount of space behind the seats too including a netted storage area.

Rear visibility is marginally worse than the coupé’s due to the deletion of the rear window.
