With a high seating position and large windscreen, all-round visibility in the Doblo is excellent, while all the dials and buttons are easy to reach for the driver. It’s a big improvement on the model it replaces in the quality of materials as well as the lay-out of the cabin features. The interior may not be the most aesthetically pleasing around but it feels durable and robust making it ideal for standing up to the scuffs and scrapes of family life.

It’s not the quietest car on the move, with engine noise particularly intrusive and more noticeable at low speeds and higher revs. This does improve at higher speeds with both engine and wind noises dropping to a minimum. All passengers get plenty of headroom thanks to the high roof and legroom is also very good. It’s longer, wider and has a longer wheelbase than the model it replaces meaning there is more room for passengers than before.

The rear will fit two adults comfortably, while three children will have more than enough room for long journeys. The two rearmost seats in the Family model are only really suitable for small children due to the minimal leg room, but it is still a useful seven-seater.
