Ford Focus Estate (1998 - 2004) boot space, practicality and safety
Twin airbags on all models, but ABS and traction control are options on many. Gained a respectable four-star Euro NCAP crash test rating. Strong deadlocks (on all but the base model CL) make it secure, bonnet needs the key to open it. Alarm on top models.
‘Control-blade’ rear suspension tucks away nicely, so there are few intrusions into the load area. Many people use a Focus estate for work too – you’ll often see them used by motorway maintenance, engineers and salespeople. Hard wearing and easy to load. The tailgate opening is wide and the sill is low. Lots of bins/cubby holes for all your odds and ends.
