Ford Focus Saloon (1998 - 2004) boot space, practicality and safety
Twin airbags on all models, but ABS and traction control are options on many. Gained a respectable four-star Euro NCAP crash test rating. Strong deadlocks (on all but the base model CL) make it secure, bonnet needs the key to open it. Alarm on top models.
A large boot capable of swallowing shopping and luggage, but not more awkwardly shaped items. ‘Control-blade’ rear suspension tucks away nicely, so there are few intrusions in the boot. The bootlid raises quite high and there’s a low sill. Lots of bins/cubby holes for all your odds and ends. Interior feels light and airy.
