Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 20 - 43 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Galaxy depreciation is gentle and is likely to be so for the foreseeable future. Fuel consumption is reasonable for all engines, with the exception of the V6. Diesels are particularly frugal. Parts and maintenance costs are low for its size and the service intervals are long.

Owners report mainly minor problems including electrical faults and failing catalytic converters on TD models. Engines and gearboxes are well proven.
