Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 25 - 47 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Depreciation has been pleasingly slow – C-Class Sport Coupe fetches surprisingly high values. Labour rates can be on the expensive side at main Mercedes-Benz dealers. Have yours serviced at a good independent and it should be a lot more reasonable; parts are usually pretty good value. Fuel economy is very good on the diesel engines, as are the smaller petrols.

C-Class scores reasonably on the eco front. With an average of 198 g/km CO2 across the model line-up, its emissions are fairly standard for a medium-sized coupe. The range is not particularly economical, averaging 36 mpg.

Feels well built and owners are yet to complain of major problems. A few recalls (see Car Checks).
