Overview

You can be forgiven for thinking at first glance that the Mitsubishi i is in fact a Smart car. You wouldn’t be far off, as the two cars have more in common than just their looks. Despite being developed independently of each other, they have similar-size engines, cheeky styling and dinky dimensions. The key difference is that the i is a four-seater, where as the Smart Fortwo is strictly just for two.

Just one engine is available and performance is modest but for those that live in the city, the unusually named i is a good choice – nippy, easy to park, cheap to own and fun.
