Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 22 - 26 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Like all big V8s the engine can drink fuel at an alarming rate when you’re really enjoying yourself. However it is a light car which means a gentle cruise will see much better economy. Morgans always hang onto their values with determination so depreciation shouldn’t be a concern. However, servicing and parts can be very expensive.

The Aero 8 is a polluting model, although it’s not excessive given the performance offered. The newer 4.8-litre engine emits 269g/km of CO2 and averages 25mpg.

The Morgan is hand built at the firms factory in Malvern to very high standards. The engine and gearbox are both BMW units so there should be no issues with them. There can be occasional niggles but Morgan will rectify them very quickly.
