Nissan Almera Hatchback boot space, practicality and safety

Scored only and average 2 stars in the NCAP test, an airbag was standard fitment although the 1.4equation didn’t get one until 1997. Passenger airbag was optional on SRi and GTi models. An immobiliser was standard fitment and an alarm optional. Doorlocks are quite weak.
The rear end of the hatchback (there’s also a saloon version) looks rather estate like, but the boot is not overly spacious however the seatbacks can be folded to increase carrying capacity if needed.
