CONS
Can be expensive to buy, seats don't fold flat, sheer size makes it tricky to manoeuvre
Renault Grand Espace rivals
The Grand Espace is the longer-wheelbase version of Renault's best-selling people carrier. It's essentially the same as the standard model and shares the same driving characteristics, engine line-up and specification levels. Like the standard model, it has folding and removable seats, lots of clever storage bins and can carry seven people - but you get a few extra inches for extra luggage and passenger room.
There are some good diesel engines available including the relatively economical 2.0-litre dCi, but the thirsty petrols are best avoided.
