Parkers overall rating: 3 out of 5 3.0

One of the most noticeable advantages of the Megane Scenic is the high and upright seating position, which improves driving posture, legroom and peripheral visibility. The large windows and absence of thick window pillars, ensures that manoeuvrability is not too problematical. The smooth dashboard and central stack look tastefully styled, durable and aesthetically pleasing, while the chunky controls and interface are straightforward and user-friendly.

At speed, the raucous engine often hampers ride comfort, plus wind noise can also be a problem. The driver’s seat comes with lumbar support – which is helpful over longer journeys as it provides assistance across the lower back – and the height adjustable steering wheel ensures that a comfortable driving position is not too difficult to find. In the rear, seating is well padded and snug, and there is sufficient room for three children, but the middle rear seat is too narrow for frequent adult usage.
