Renault Megane Hatchback boot space, practicality and safety

Like many Renaults, Megane is the safest in its class, with a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Plenty of airbags (three-door gets eight, ten on the five-door). Outstanding security with keyless entry, deadlocks, a Thatcham-approved immobiliser and RAID (Renault Anti-Intruder Device). Privilege also benefits from an alarm.
Surprisingly little luggage space given the shape of the boot, although it can be extended by folding the seats flat. Rear suspension is hidden away. Useful storage areas include a large air-conditioned glovebox and sunglasses holder.
