It has never been crash tested, but all models get driver, passenger and side airbags. Safety shouldn’t be a concern with a good alarm and immobiliser fitted as standard.
The boot is a reasonable size and all models have a split folding rear seat. The rear wheel arches intrude into the boot considerably, but it will deal with most family hatchback requirements. Cabin has the usual storage recesses.
