Rover 800 Saloon (1991 - 2000) practicality
The 800 is an ‘80s car, with ‘80s safety levels, although it has been progressively uprated over the years. No Euro NCAP rating. Driver and passenger airbags are standard, so are ABS brakes on all but the entry-level models. Rear centre three-point seat belts are fitted to half the range. The installation of deadlocks, which are extremely difficult to overcome helps its security rating.
Remote locking, alarm and engine immobiliser complete the security picture.
The boot on the saloon is an executive size: deep and wide. It'll easily transport a set of luggage. Inside, there are door bins and seat-back pockets and a large glovebox.
