The interior lags a little behind both Audi and Mercedes in terms of quality but Saab makes up for this with its stylish fascia. The dash curves slightly around you, the green light that illuminates the dash means dials are easy to read at night and visibility is good both up front and to the rear of the car. It’s easy to get a good seating position, especially if you pick a model with electrically adjusted seats.

The top Aero trim comes with perforated leather sports seats.

Saab has always been a strong contender when it comes to driver and passenger comfort. The new Saab 9-5 comfort credentials are no different and the car’s ability to cover serious distance on motorways in a relaxed manner is extremely impressive. The seats give good lumbar support to your back and in more sporty models the seats have also got great side supports to hold you in place when cornering hard.
