Three-star Euro NCAP rating is good for its time, but now considered below-average. ABS, twin airbags plus side airbags, rear centre three-point belt. Remote locking and immobilisers are standard throughout. Alarm on all except low-spec S models.
A large boot area makes it popular with families. A few suitcases fit easily into the back and the seats split and fold for extra room.
