Toyota Corolla Hatchback interior, tech and comfort

2002 - 2006 (change model)
Comfort rating: 3.5 out of 53.5

Comfortable to drive, thanks to a well-thought-out driving position, comfortably sited pedals and controls that are well placed and easy to use. Comfy for two to three hours at a time (driver’s armrest is upholstered in an especially soft material).

Plenty of room for four adults. Seats are comfy for long journeys with enough adjustment on most models. Rear passengers have plenty of leg and headroom. Noise levels (wind, road and engine) are low on the 1.4 and 1.6. The 2.0-litre diesel is noisier than many of its rivals, although the 1.4 is better. T Sport model’s engine noise can become tiring if you keep chasing revs.

T Sport Compressor’s supercharger whine endows the engine with a more characterful voice.
