A top five-star Euro NCAP rating makes the Corolla Verso one of the safest MPVs around. Nine airbags are fitted as standard – two front, four side, two curtain and a knee bag to prevent the driver’s legs hitting the dashboard while Isofix child seat mounts are fitted to the rear seats. All models get anti-lock brakes and stability control is available on top-spec T3, T-Spirit and T180 cars.
All models get seven seats as standard and the rear two rows can be folded flat into the floor. The middle seats also slide, which varies passenger space or luggage room, however what’s less impressive is the strap pulls that fold the seats – they aren’t easy to grip, especially with wet hands, but on the plus side the seats are easy to fold and raise.
They only require one pull to lift the seat back while the base slides neatly into place. Luggage space with all the seats up is limited however with just 63 litres available.

Euro NCAP provides motoring consumers with a realistic and independent assessment of the safety performance of some of the most popular cars sold in Europe. The safety ratings are determined from a series of vehicle tests, designed and carried out by Euro NCAP. These tests represent, in a simplified way, important real life accident scenarios that could result in injured or killed car occupants or other road users.
