Other BMW 5-Series (2003 - 2010) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Someone who appreciates quality and things that are well built.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think the cars too big and expensive, probably think I'm showing off.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Probably not. The model is getting a bit old now.

What are you likely to buy next?

The new 5-Series or perhaps a 6-Series (budget allowing). But then again if space is not an issue, then a 3-Series would do.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £14,500

When did you buy the car?

    September 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

It was hard to find an M sport, 3 litre engine with reasonable mileage. So you end up paying more than the standard models.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed a newer car, the old one was 13 yrs old with over 200k on the clock.

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Absolute dream to drive, responsive and handles really well round corners given the size of the car. Really fun in sports mode, but then it will hit your fuel economy.

    What's it like to park?

It's a big car, so can be a pain in some parking bays, also have to watch the alloys with the kerb, 19" so not a lot of tyre to protect them. The front & rear sensors are a big help getting in and out of tight car parking spots.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

    Nothing yet.

What's most practical about your car?

The huge boot. I've got a 2yr old and it easily takes the travel cot, pushchair and the luggage.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The I-drive, without it, it just wouldn't be an executive saloon.
