• Summary

What does this car say about you?

Its a good looking car which looks like it should be much more expensive than it is, The C3 is cheaper than a fiesta, but is larger and much more flexable.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I have transported many friends and family in this car many of them have down graded to smaller vehicles after seeing how small cars are not always as small as you would think.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, its a great comfortable little car which is cheap to run and is much larger than it looks.

What are you likely to buy next?

An Audi A4 or a VW Passat.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £9,200

When did you buy the car?

    February 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

The car was very good value however the once you throw delivery and all the added warranties and insurances on to the price it actually became quite expensive, I also don't believe I got the best rate on my finance deal, especially from an official showroom.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Car tax £20 for the year due to low emissions. The Panoramic Roof is is a real selling point lighting up the interior. The space inside is very impressive for a small car. The Fuel Efficiency of the car was rather impressive.

    What was the dealer like?

Prepared the car well and delivered it to me quickly. really knowledgeable about their vehicles as you would expect. However they are not very clear on the services they add on to the price of your vehicle (do you need extra insurance etc.).

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

To drive the car feels solid, The 1.6 diesel feels stable on the road with no body role and is quite quiet. As with most French cars it has light steering and is comfortable for long distance drives. I'm getting 65+ MPG and couldn't be happier. There are a couple of little annoyances. The Panoramic Roof is one of those things that you forget about very quickly, when you need a sun visor you have to go fishing behind you. The most annoying thing about the car is NO CUP HOLDER, the car comes with a button to dim all the cabin lights but does not have a place to put coffee. Citroen have produced a bit of plastic which slots into the centre column and will hold your drink on an awkward 20 degree angle next to your gear stick to run the risk of spillages with every gear change.

    What's it like to park?

Visibility is fantastic, I don't have any driver aids in the car however I did invest in 2 domed blind spot mirrors which I attached to my wing mirrors. The wing mirrors are very large which only improves visibility but to aid parking having 2 little mirrors just to extend your visible range really helps.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Headlight bulbs have blown a few more times than I would expect. Some of the trim around the wheel arches has loosened and will pop out. Some of the trim inside the car around the door air bags has come loose. Other than these few little things the car has been perfect.

What's most practical about your car?

The car comes with 5 doors, ISO Fix seats, plenty of leg room and boot space, it really is a perfect car for people thinking of starting a family, which you wouldn't expect for a small car. The car is also very cheap to run and insure which is great.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The speed limiter has proven to be a fantastic gadget. I originally purchased the car for cruise control however with the desire to be as fuel economic as possible I will set my speed limiter at the beginning of every journey to get the highest MPG possible.
