• Summary

What does this car say about you?

stylish - likes a nice looking car but keeps an eye on the pennies as well - not too extravagent or boy racer. Hyundai means 'modern' after all!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everyone I've showed it to has loved it - that's the beauty of this car. It attracts young and old, men and women.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, it is a good value practical car that also happens to be sporty and looks fantastic. The warrently as also fantastic (5 years).

What are you likely to buy next?

No idea - I'd love a convertible in the future. Shame Hyundai canned their planns for a coupe convertible!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £11,000

When did you buy the car?

    May 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yeah - got a 55 plate with 7,800 miles on the clock the £11,000. This is a good price anyway as the mileage was so low but what made it really good was the trade in price I managed to negotiate with the guy.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

It is a great balance between looks, sportiness, price and runing costs. I genuinely believe you won't find a better value coupe out there.

    What was the dealer like?

Helpful and not very pushy. Didn't know much about the Hyundai Coupes though - not a Hyundai dealer - I was telling him about the spec some of the time.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very firm and assured - good chassis. It's not the quickest coupe in its class but the handling is good with good feedback fromthe wheel and the gearbox & clutch feel very smooth. It has a lovely sound too.

    What's it like to park?

The huge rear window means it's very easy. The high sides and spacious cabin make you feel it's a lot bigger than it is and the turning circle isn't as good as some of its competitors making feel a bit long but overall easer than some hatchbacks I've driven.

Have you had any problems with the car?

The right front brake disc was pitted and warped when I bought it. It was only noticable braing down from 70mph on the motorway. The dealer replaced the disc and pads under warrenty saying the disc must have been faulty.

What's most practical about your car?

The boot is very big. The Insurance is dirt cheap as well (group 10 - almost all other coupes are min 15. 10 is more like the price of a top of the range astra!)

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

cup holder on the passenger side!
