What does this car say about you?

It lies. Probably gives steady, reliable practical vibe.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

All impressed. Both practicality and comfort.

Would you buy this car again and why?

For its qualities probably yes. In reality, no, done that part, kids got own cars now so time for some fun and to hell with practicality.

What are you likely to buy next?

Swithering. Wife wants a Volvo, I want an Astra VXR or a wee two seat runaround.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    December 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think so. Obviously due to my natural charm........oh, and some knowledge of what I want and my refusal to listen to bull****.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Looking for a reasonable sized family hatchback with decent amount of bootspace for dog, rugby kit, tools etc etc.

    What was the dealer like?

Friendly, interested and attentive. Knew we had a shortlist and told him we'd make a decision that night so pointed out all the features etc, let us have test drive then followed up with a phonecall next morning. Once order placed he kept in touch re delivery etc so very pleased.

    What's it like to drive?

6 speed manual box (with little numbers on the dash to tell you what gear you should be in, imo, if you don't know you shouldn't be on the road) gives you complete control. Easy and nippy in town in 1st to 4th, even 5th on occassion. 5 & 6 make motorway driving a breeze and, even with this engine, will happily pull from 50 - illegal with no effort. Anyway we went for the 1.6 diesel, so we could afford our eldest on the insurance, there is a 2.0 diesel option but to be honest this wee thing has plenty poke for a lot less cash. Nippy about town and easy on motorway to glance down and realise that the blue light in the rearview mirror might really be for you. MPG 42, not what peugeot tell you, just what you really get.

    What's it like to park?

    Higher position equals dawdle.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Absolutely nothing unexpected or serious. General wear and tear ie a droplink, courtesy of our silky smooth road network, tyres and brake pads.

What's most practical about your car?

The 3008 is not the most exciting looking car our there by a long shot but it has everything we wanted at the time. Space enough for 5 adults (tight in the back but room) and dog/kit/etc. Slightly higher ride height so vision is good. As always theres a bit of a trade off with ride height v handling but its certainly not too bad and can take being thrown up a b road at speed when you feel like it. Bootspace. Tons of it, even with seats up. Floor has 3 height sellings and car comes equipped with a full sizes spare wheel.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Boot door is a split affair. Open the top to fling the shopping in or open both to have a seat to pull on your boots, have a picnic, shove in the washing machine etc. Great.
