Other Vauxhall Insignia (2009 - 2017) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Interesting question, although I don't really care what other people think. It is seen as a status symbol and often mistaken for a police vehicle, which has advantages and disadvantages!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think that it's very 'flashy', very comfortable, economical and spacey.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes definitely, although the quality of the Vauxhall after sales service leaves a lot to be desired and does give me pause for thought.

What are you likely to buy next?

Probably the same car but will not choose the black colour again as it is dreadful to keep clean.

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    March 2011

This car was aquired through the Motability Scheme.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    This is a Motability vehicle.

    What was the dealer like?

The main Vauxhall dealer was very unsatisfactory in terms of service and customer relations.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very responsive, powerful, extremely comfortable and very good on fuel economy for an automatic 2litre car. I love it ! Good on motorway and in town. Great feeling of overall security and road holding.

    What's it like to park?

Although I am used to driving and parking, large estate cars for the last 25 years, the Insignia Hatchback is by far the most difficult to park, probably owing to the lack of good rear visibility and I've found that in this case the Parking Sensors were an essential aid.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

On day of receipt, discovered a badly fitted part on the dashboard, which had to be refitted 2 times. The Parking Sensors were incorrectly calibrated and had to be reset, twice. As of mid-December, 2012, all these cars of similar plates, have just been recalled by the manufacturers due to issues with the power management systems affecting engine performance. Only one of the two boot lights had been installed.

What's most practical about your car?

The car is wonderful! Huge boot space, seats fold down very easily. Good on fuel economy and relatively good for an automatic, on carbon emissions.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Electrically adjustable driver and front passenger's seat Automatic tyre pressure sensors, displayed on dashboard LCD display Sunglasses holder above drivers door.
