Other Vauxhall Vectra (2005 - 2008) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Bloke who's got a deal, a budget and a family with a buggy and two suitcases.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everyone choosing to speak to me about it comment on it's good looks. I keep it clean so that helps.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes but only at the same price. It's a lot of car for the money but the couple of minor and annoying faults mean I'd need a deal to make me part with my money again.

What are you likely to buy next?

Something similar. I don't like the driving position of MPVs and once you've owned a large car, you rarely go small again.

    July 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes because I received a huge discount and a few extra bits added gratis.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    The deal on offer

    What was the dealer like?

Friendly and professional but they all are when you're writing the cheque.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Plenty of poke although it feels a bit light at the front. It's a steady cruiser and quiet and refined for a diesel.

    What's it like to park?

Straightforward. It feels larger than it is when I'm driving it but all-round visibilty is good.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

The front wipers do not work properly when it's freezing and the washer fluid has frozen. This has been cured by myself simply by adding a higher concentrate of washer fluid to the washer bottle. Also, the driver's seat is prone to an annoying sqeaking sound at times. I'm currently in the process of spraying the moving metal parts with WD40 as I believe the dealer won't take this seriously.

What's most practical about your car?

The boot is large, providing me with ample space for a buggy and two suitcases.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The cruise control is useful and the other toys are well worth having too.
