• Summary

What does this car say about you?

Probably that I can think for myself and that I am willing to challenge preconceptions!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Some people just think the XTR is just another 4x4 or faux 4x4, but when they reaslise its just 140 co2, 50 mpg plus, group 5 ins and its got a fab interior most wonder why they haven't seen or heard of one before.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, this car has been such a hit with us and because it has continued to suprise and delight like no other car we have owned I think it will be part of the family for some time! To date its doing 50.4mpg yet can be fastpaced. Perhaps overall there is a sence of honesty about this car that just spotlights it's performance and ability all the more. Its a car that does what it says on the tin and so much more, rather than being a lifestyle expression like so many MPVs and SUVs that simply fail to deliver.

What are you likely to buy next?

Unless I fall for the DS4 in 2011 it may well be another Berlingo!

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    September 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

0% and a deal! Very happy

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

To replace a Freelander1 (which had done good service) but was looking for 2wd but with a high driving position. Once discovered you realise this car has many hidden layers and has never failed to please.

    What was the dealer like?

Very friendly but new to the Citroen franchise.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

The car is so easy to drive, light controls and a nice high driving position. The instruments are nice and clear and I certainly don't miss the Freelander bob to duck down and read the instruments that other tall Freelander1 drivers will be familiar with!! With no more body roll than the Freelander but much better brakes (lighter I guess) and better acceleration and top speed you find many drivers are surprised with its turn of speed. The height means in country lanes its easy to spot the road ahead (oh, and at night its lights are really good), town driving is fine with its light controls, while motorway driving is relaxed and safe. The very comfy seats and central arrest can make it seem like you are driving from your best armchair! With all the speed restrictions on our roads for me th

    What's it like to park?

A joy! Ok Parking sensors help but so much glass means you are well aware of surroundings.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing has gone wrong, infact I was unable to find falt when the car was picked up and nothing has since changed!

What's most practical about your car?

You seem to get more space in the Berlingo than any other car I looked at. While its a little shorter than the Freelander1, the space is much bigger inside. With the front passenger seat folding down like the back ones, trips to IKEA become a joy!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I love the modutop glass roof and the hill holder but find I use the speed limiter and cruise control much more than any other car I have driven.
